William McMann

Principal , Executive Vice President- Engineering

Bill graduated from West Virginia University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering.  He later earned his MBA in 1996 from Oklahoma State University.  Bill started his career as a Petroleum Engineer at Amerada Hess in the early years of WAG/CO2 enhanced recovery projects in West Texas and later working the Gulf of Mexico.  Later Bill worked at Vintage Petroleum during multiple California acquisitions, and was an early and influential leader during the rapid rise of Denbury Resources.  He managed newly acquired assets in Mississippi, implemented new drilling and workover programs, and ultimately led the installation of several CO2 enhanced recovery projects.  During his time as Asset Manager, Denbury saw incredible growth in production, valuation, and employee headcount.  This growth required the start of many new systems and processes to properly manage the company, all of which Bill managed successfully.  After leaving Denbury, Bill has deployed his engineering and management skills as a consultant and at several growing E&P companies and has also worked as Vice President of Operations at Wagner Oil and Vice President of Production & Facilities at Matador Resources, aiding them to similar growth and success.

Bill understands new venture management by identifying the needs of growth minded organizations and by implementing solutions across all disciplines.  Bill and his wife Debbie live in Flower Mound, Texas and have two sons and is a member of SPE, AADE and the Oilfield Christian Fellowship. When he’s not watching his boys play baseball, Bill volunteers his time escorting military veterans to war memorials in Washington DC through the DFW Honor Flight Program and also serves as the liaison between the DFW AADE chapter and the AADE Student Section chapter at West Virginia University.
